One of the most underrated and overlooked tricks for improving performance in your ad account is looking at the comments section of your Facebook and Instagram Ads.

Potential customers will often leave comments that give you direct feedback on what they think about your product. They’ll tell you, whether you want them to or not, what they like and don’t like about your product. Sometimes they'll even directly tell you their objections to purchasing. While some of them may be ruthless, these raw, real, and honest comments could be just the thing you need to improve performance in your ad account

When we're trying to improve performance, one of the first things that we'll do is look at the comments section of an ad account. Just looking through the comments will generate a list of potential customers telling us all of their thoughts about our product(s). Then we use the feedback to create new ad copy and creative that will better resonate with our audience.

Customer leaves a raving 5-star review? Use it as a testimonial ad blurb to tell prospective customers what your fans are raving about. See lots of questions about your product? Make sure your copy is clear and that your creatives give your prospects a thorough picture of the benefits they’ll get from purchasing your product.

If your ads are underperforming and you haven’t paid attention to what people are commenting, give it a try! While it might be time consuming or even discouraging to look through all of the comments, think of it as customer feedback and use it to revise your copy and creative accordingly. Then watch your ads perform better than ever before!
